Udyog AAdhaar – Certificates, Fees, Registration, FAQ

MSMEs are issued a Udyog Aadhar, which is a Unique Identification Number. Small and medium enterprises are issued by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Now, Udyog Aadhar is referred to as Udyam. Obtaining a Udyam Certificate and registering under the Udyam Registration Portal are the next steps for new MSMEs. 

To register under Udyog Aadhar, existing enterprises must register again. Enterprises registered before 30 June 2020 are eligible for Udyog Aadhar through 31 March 2021. It is mandatory for MSMEs with Udyog Aadhar certificates to re-register on the Udyam Registration portal before 31 March 2021.

What is Udyog Aadhar?

As a result of their registration with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs receive a twelve-digit Unique Identification Number called Udyog Aadhar.

As a result, the Government of India has replaced Udyog Aadhar with Udaym. MSME companies can obtain Udaym Registration through the Udyam Registration portal if they meet the MSME definition.

What is the Udyog Aadhar Certificate?

MSMEs registered with the Ministry of MSME receive Udyog Aadhar certificates. There is a Udyog Aadhar Number on the Udyog Aadhar Certificate.

Having obtained the Udyog Aadhar Certificate, enterprises need to re-register on the Udyam Registration Portal and obtain the Udyam Registration Certificate. A Udyam Certificate contains the unique registration number of the enterprise and can be used to qualify for the Government of India’s MSMEs benefits.

Can you tell me how much the registration fee for Udyog Aadhar is?

The Udyog Aadhar Registration of enterprises needs to be re-registered for the Udaym Registration. In order to mitigate from Udyog Aadhar Registration to Udyam Registration, there is no fee.

Registration for MSMEs is completely online through the Udaym Registration Portal. This portal does not charge a fee for registration. You don’t have to pay for it.

Udyog Aadhar Registration Process

MSMEs with Udyog Aadhar can obtain Udyam Registration on udyamregistration.gov.in, the official Government portal. The Udyam Registration Portal offers two options for obtaining a Udyam Registration Certificate. These are: 

New entrepreneurs who have not yet registered as MSME and

For those having registration as UAM or EM-II  and those having registration as EM-II or UAM through Assisted filing 

The registration process is as follows:

New MSMEs need to click on the button “For New Entrepreneurs who are not Registered yet as MSME” button on the homepage of the portal and fill the registration form online.

PAN numbers can be obtained by entrepreneurs with or without registering their enterprises. Forms must be filled out and submitted with all the information regarding the PAN card for verification, personal information, enterprise details, and bank details.

Following the submission of the form, an email with details such as the MSME’s reference number will be sent to the address provided in the form. As soon as the registration process has been verified, the Udyam Registration Certificate is issued to the MSMEs.

In order to register for Udyog Aadhar, MSME’s need to click on the link that reads “For those registering as EM-II or UAM” or “For those registering through assisted filing”.

In order to complete their registration under the revised Udyam Registration, they need to fill out the registration details.
